Here I am at Santa again  He's friendly enough, but it seems like he wants to smother me.  I just want to go running around.  Not that I can move much in this tight Christmas sweater.  Also, check out my fancy bow.

Blessing of the Animals

Saint Francis of Assisi is known as the patron saint of animals.  A lot of homeowners put statues up in their gardens (our priest told a joke that St. Francis was the patron saint of birdbaths.

St. Francis' Feast Day is October 4th, and around that time each year, churches sponsor and event known as The Blessing of the Animals.

Cinderella attended that event this year as she has in the past.  She was all dressed up in her special bow.  The prettiest girl there.

It was a nice event, glorious weather.  A nice short half hour, with some religious hymns (Canticle of the Sun) and spraying the animals with holy water.  There were many dogs, some cats, two horses and an assortment of gerbils and lizards.

If you are a dog lover, (and why else would you be looking at this blog) I recommend it.

Our little dog does love the beach on a hot day.  She doesn't like the waves, though, and we don't like to get sand in her hair.  So most she rides around looking for someone to pet her.

HIding from the Sun

Cindy recently moved to the sunny South, and she tries to hide from the sun.  Here she is ducking behind a flower pot to grab some shade.
